The Romanian Society of Criminology and Criminalistics and the Institute of Legal Research “Acad. Andrei Rădulescu ” within the Romanian Academy invites you to participate in the National Conference entitled „The place and role of prevention in the criminal policy at EU level – special emphasis on Romania.”

The event will take place on the 28th of May 2020, at 10 A.M., in the I.H. Radulescu Amphitheater of the Romanian Academy Library, located in Calea Victoriei, no. 125.

The conference proceedings will be held initially in plenary, later in sections, but to address as many issues as possible on the proposed topic, the organizers recommend participants topics such as:

A. Contemporary debates on the definition, objectives, and limits of prevention, types, models, strategies, and techniques of prevention, evaluation of prevention programs

– The security of the citizen – a fundamental right

– Crime prevention – a condition of sustainable social development

– Types of prevention in European countries

– Recidivism prevention models

– Quality of life in metropolitan areas, a consequence of prevention strategies

B. Contemporary debates regarding the use of scientific research on the level of criminal policy decisions regarding prevention

– Crime costs, the problem of political decision

– Training of experts in the field of crime prevention

C. Good governance practices in the EU legal space

– Proximity police – modern types of police

– The role of the police in high crime risk areas

– Prevention services in Romania and their results

– Inter-institutional collaboration, the premise of optimal prevention

– The responsibility of the city halls in the field of crime prevention

– Involvement of civil society in the elaboration and implementation of prevention programs/strategies

By 30.03.2020, notifications regarding acceptance or refusal of registration will be sent by the Scientific Committee.
